Ever wondered how Genesis is performing in the US? The luxury arm of Hyundai was born a year ago and it debuted with some exciting luxury sedans and today, we can finally see how the brand is being received by consumers in the US.

According to a sales data sheet provided by Genesis, they made the biggest market share gain in January last month after selling a total of 1862 G80s and G90s. This put the company in third place, behind Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac in terms of market share in the luxury sedan market.

The former achieved top spot after selling 4,022 E-Class amongst other vehicles and the latter trails closely behind thanks to the XTS. The positive here is that Genesis is turning into a major player in the luxury scene and it won’t be long before they get recognized like one.

For Genesis, they are hoping to achieve 10% of the overall luxury market share in the US by the end of 2017 and this will set up a strong platform for them to grow in the near future.
