2017 Fiat 124 Spider Beats Miata To ‘Best Convertible’ Crown

By  |

The cars from Fiat-Chrysler may have dominated the worst vehicle list from Consumer Reports but there are still some hope left thanks to the success of other vehicles. One of them is the all-new Fiat 124 Spider, which has been rated positively by various auto reviewers.

Today, Cars.com took a step further by crowning the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider as the best convertible available in the market today. It is quite a surprise if you are to consider that the 124 Spider is based on the Mazda MX-5 Miata and it still managed to beat its ‘parent’ car.

The 124 Spider received full score in the styling department and overall driving characteristics. It is only the 1.4L engine which fall a hair behind to the MX-5. Even so, the voters remarked that the 124 Spider’s engine sound is second to none.

The award will be passed to the 124 Spider at the next Detroit Auto Show and that is scheduled to happen next week. Do you agree with the award?
