2017 Ford Escape: One Final Dig At Honda CR-V

By  |

The compact crossover market is currently being dominated by the Honda CR-V but that doesn’t mean Ford has given up on the Escape. Despite being an aging model, Ford is still trying hard to clear up the current Escape from their inventory and the best way to do so is to make it attractive again.

In the Escape’s case, the vehicle is now being offered with massive discounts at the dealers. Today, you can grab yourself a brand new Ford Escape from only $20,000 instead of the usual $24,645. The discounts are huge and it should appeal to those who wants a new compact crossover but has a very limited budget.

Sure, the Escape may not have a nice balance in power and fuel economy like the Honda CR-V but it is still a decent crossover which money can buy. For a lot less, you can enjoy a 245hp powertrain that will grant you the ability to sprint from 0-60mph in just 7.1 seconds.

The only catch is with the economical side of things. The Escape is rated to return 27mpg at best and this is far behind rival vehicles. On the positive end, the heavy discounts applied with the Escape are giving away a strong signal that a new Escape is coming. What do you think?
