2017 Hyundai Elantra: What’s The Damage?

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra is nearing its release and it will come with plenty of upgrades to offer. Now, Hyundai has returned to the spotlight as it announces on the pricing of the sleek-looking sedan.

Hyundai revealed that the Elantra will have a starting price of $17,895 and this is inclusive of the $835 destination fee. Surprisingly, the damage is about $100 cheaper than the MSRP of the 2016 Elantra. This also confirms that the Elantra is about $1,500 cheaper than the all-new Honda Civic.

Both the Elantra SE and Limited are powered by the same 2L 4-cylinder engine that makes 147hp and 132ft-lbs of torque. The cheaper Elantra is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. For the automatic transmission, consumers will have to fork out more money.

Despite the Elantra being cheaper than usual, it is still able to return about 35mpg on average drive. This might not be as good as the latest Civic but it is still a welcomed improvement.
