2017 Maserati Levante: Good News! V8 Fits Like A Glove

Very soon from now, Maserati will be launching the Levante. For those that have been living under the rock, the Levante is going to be Maserati’s first ever SUV and it will be competing with the Porsche Cayenne.

Maserati has already unveiled the Levante and the vehicle is built on the same platform that is used to develop the Ghibli and Quattroporte. This means that the Levante could potentially come out with the 523hp 3.8L twin-turbo V8 engine that is offered with the range-topping Quattroporte.

Earlier today, Davide Danesin from Maserati confirms that the company has finally built a V8-powered Levante prototype and the engine fits like a glove. However, the engine will only be offered with the range-topping trim and it will arrive at a later date.

As for the ordinary Levante, the SUV will come out with two powertrains to choose from. Both of them runs on the 3L twin-turbo V6 engine but are tuned differently.
