2017 Mercedes-AMG GT C: Watch Out, Porsche 911!
The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is the middle child of the range-topping AMG GT R and tamer AMG GT S, so unsurprisingly it would get less attention than its siblings. That doesn’t mean that the ride isn’t worth considering, especially when one is looking for alternatives to the Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
The AMG GT C churns out 547hp and 502lb-ft torque from a 4.0L biturbo V8 that has grown to be a staple for the current AMG lineup, but wouldn’t some of that power be compromised by the extra weight that follows from losing its roof?
While that’s true, this new drop-top AMG makes a strong case for folks to ditch the comparable 540hp 911 Turbo Cabrio which is a lot rarer than the coupe anyway.
