2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R Burns Viper ACR Record To Ashes

By  |

In the words of John Cena, your time is up, my time is now. This is what Mercedes-AMG is probably saying to Dodge after they managed to beat the Viper ACR’s Nurburgring best track time with the al-new GTR.

This is not surprising really as the Mercedes-AMG GTR brags 577hp and this allows it to finish Nurburgring lap test with a timing of 7 minutes and 10.9 seconds.

The achievement made by the Mercedes-AMG GTR, as seen above, puts it in seventh place on Nurburgring’s top 100 lap times. The timing proves that the GTR is faster than the Gumpert Apollo Speed and the Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR. Speaking of the Viper, the latter’s best time is 7:12.13.

But then again, the Mercedes-AMG GTR fell behind the age old Nissan GT-R. The former is about 2 seconds behind the Japanese monster car and Nissan can be delighted for it.

The Viper time that it beat is 3 years old. The new Generation 5 Viper has never been tested there. It would certainly obliterate the Mercedes time.

That is the Gen IV ACR not the Gen V extreme aero ACR which has not run at the Ring yet.
