2017 Nissan GT-R, Acura NSX Humiliated By 540hp McLaren 540C
If you are to organize a drag race involving the Nissan GT-R, Acura NSX and the McLaren 540C, which car will come out as the winner? All three cars may be very different from each other but they have one thing in common and that is being fast.
The Nissan GT-R is the oldest of the bunch as it is 10 years of age and is also cheaper than both the NSX and 540C. The GT-R relies on a powerful V6 setup that gives it the best launch in any race but is it faster than its rivals?
The answer is actually no as the GT-R fell short of the Acura NSX and McLaren 540C. However, the GT-R can feel proud as the time gap between it and the race winner is not a huge one.
The Acura NSX came in second and this is still impressive despite it being the youngest supercar of the bunch and the only vehicle that runs on a hybrid system. The NSX may have clocked some of the most impressive times around a track but it fell behind on the straight line.
That leaves the McLaren 540C as the champion in this contest. The 540C is not as clever as the NSX or as fast off the line like the GT-R but it still managed to come out in first place. This is because of the lightness of the car, which compensates for the lack of horses produced by the engine.
The 540C is about 400kg lighter than both the Acura NSX and Nissan GT-R thus giving it that added advantage on the straight line. You can check out a clip of the race below.
