2017 Ram 1500 Rebel Black: No Hellcat, What A Shame!

It is really hard to understand on why RAM is not rushing to offer the iconic Hellcat powertrain with their prime pickup truck, the 1500. RAM has already teased the idea through the 1500 Rebel TRX Concept but there is just no telling on when it will officially arrive.

So when RAM took it online to unveil the 1500 Rebel Black, we can’t help but feel excited for the pickup truck as the vehicle looks really hot and it seems perfect for the 707hp powertrain. But unfortunately, RAM broke the bad news when they revealed that the Rebel Black will be offered with two engine options.

The first is a 3.6L V6 engine that can develop about 305hp and 269ft-lbs of torque. The second is a 5.7L V8 engine that can generate 395hp and 410ft-lbs of torque. Either choice will see the engine being paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

This goes to say that the RAM 1500 Rebel Black is nothing more than a blacked-out 1500 with nothing truly exceptional to offer. In other words, we still have to wait for the Rebel TRX if we want to see anything insane with the pickup truck.
