2017 Subaru Outback: Is The Honda CR-V Overrated?

By  |

The latest Subaru Outback is one of the best compact crossovers in our eyes and it is easy to understand why. The vehicle rated highly for the driving pleasure which it has to offer and it is also reasonably priced as well.

We have tested out both Subaru Outback and Honda CR-V, and we can confirm that there is more excitement on the former than the latter. The CR-V may be the bestselling compact crossover around but we get more satisfaction on the Outback.

The Outback we tested runs on a 3.6L flat-6 engine that can develop a whopping 256hp and 247ft-lbs of torque. This is so much more than the CR-V. The only part where the CR-V is better is fuel economy but the difference in this department is not that huge.

Because of the Outback, we feel that the CR-V is more loved because of the fact that it is a safe bet. Honda has got a great track record in value and reliability that makes it the most popular choice around. However, to call the CR-V better than the Outback based on sales does not feel right at all.
