2017 Toyota Highlander vs Nissan Pathfinder: So Equal, Yet So Different
Both the latest Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder are going all-out for 2017 as they look to make a comeback in the SUV segment. The Highlander is already on the right path to success as it has been upgraded with plenty of new features for 2017. However, is it better than the Pathfinder?
It is hard to pick a winner between the two especially when you notice that the Highlander and Pathfinder share a lot of similarities with each other. Both vehicles come with three-rows of seats and they are rated to return the same fuel economy.
But when it comes to practicality, safety and performance, we have to side with the Highlander as the SUV does it better than the Pathfinder. The Highlander with the 3.5L V6 engine can churn out 295hp and the new 8-speed gearbox ensures smooth power delivery. The Highlander also have more safety features than the Pathfinder.
The latter also runs on a 3.5L V6 but it is one that is slightly weaker than the Highlander. To make things worse, we noticed many delays with the CVT gearbox on the Pathfinder. If the CVT managed to offer better response, we won’t be siding with the Highlander in this contest.
