2018 BMW i8 vs Acura NSX vs Toyota Supra: Hybrids Get Too Hot!
The hybrid segment is fast flourishing and it will eventually replace the normal, gas guzzling cars as the new norm of the auto industry. Even on the performance front, there are already a number of great hybrid vehicles namely the BMW i8, Acura NSX and the upcoming Toyota Supra.
With the exception of the Supra, the cars have proved their worth by offering a nice design and a performance that screams the future. But between the three, which is the most exciting one of them all?
The BMW i8, in particular, has got the best design of the three and it runs on a 1.5L turbo-3 engine with electric motors. The setup can only develop 357hp but the performance is equivalent to a 500hp car, although, it may not look as fast as its appearance suggests.
The Acura NSX, on the other hand, is equipped with the smartest technologies around and it relies on a 3.5L V6 engine with an electric motors. The NSX can develop 573hp and it is the fastest hybrid car right now and this was proven again last week when the NSX outpaced the Lambo Aventador.
Last but not least is the Toyota Supra. The car is rumoured to come with a 3L twin-turbo V6 engine with two electric motors. It will bless the car with 450hp and a speed worth getting excited about.
Personally, we can’t decide on the winner here as all three cars are just too great in their own respective way. Perhaps, the decision making will get easier once Toyota has laid out the official specs for the upcoming Supra.
