2018 Ford F-150 Flirts With Unimaginable Power

It looks like Ford can start penning down the next-gen F-150 Raptor because the model right now may turn obsolete sooner than expected. What’s unique about this is that the F-150 Raptor will lose its specialty to a standard F-150, not a pickup truck from other make.

This was suggested earlier today when Ford confirmed that the next F-150 will be coming out with way more power to offer. Ford said that the 3.5L V6 engine on the current F-150 will be replaced with a 3.3L unit that comes with direct injection.

The new powertrain will increase output by about 8hp and 12ft-lbs of torque but the biggest change will be with the F-150’s overall driving feel. Other powertrains too will get boosted thanks to the application of direct injection.

With the F-150 continuously getting more powerful with every passing year, a standard mid-level model may soon catch up with the offerings of the range-topping F-150 Raptor. When that happens, we sure hope Ford readily launches the next-gen F-150 Raptor to distinguish itself from the normal model.
