2018 Ford F-150 Hands Diesel An Extended Life!

Just when we thought that diesels have fallen out of favour in the automotive industry, Ford came out to announce on a diesel powertrain that will be offered with the F-150.

The turbocharged diesel mill will be getting unveiled at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show next week and the only thing we know about it right now is the fuel economy number.

Ford has revealed that the turbodiesel engine that will feature on the F-150 can return an estimated 30mpg at best. The diesel option will serve consumers that desire for a heavy duty and economical setup with the F-150.

It is perhaps right to also say that the move to offer diesel with the F-150 is to compete more with the Chevrolet Silverado. Jeep too will start offering diesel with the Wrangler hence there is still a place for diesels here in the US.
