2018 Ford F-150 Has Caught Jeep Grand Cherokee Transmission Flu!

The Ford F-150 is the bestselling pickup truck here in the US but this does not make the vehicle invulnerable to production faults at all.

Earlier this week, Ford was loud in announcing a massive recall for the newly produced 2018 F-150 and it is due to a fault with the vehicle’s transmission. An investigation has discovered that the “clip that locks the gearshift cable to the transmission may not be fully seated” and this could lead to the driver being unaware of the real gear that is engaged.

This is an issue which Ford is not taking lightly because it may replicate the death accidents caused by a similar issue on the Jeep Grand Cherokee very recently ago. For the Grand Cherokee, the Park gear was not properly engaged and it resulted in the vehicle rolling away. A similar scenario may happen if the issue on the F-150 is left unaddressed.

The recall from Ford will affect a whopping 347,425 examples of the 2018 F-150 that were produced between January 5, 2017 to March 9, 2018.
