2018 Ford F-150 Narrows Gap With Raptor Trim

By  |

The Ford F-150 Raptor is the most insane stock pickup truck in the market today and this is having a positive effect on the entire F-150 family. It was confirmed earlier today that the success of the Raptor has motivated Ford to enhance the performance of the standard F-150.

Ford said that the 3.5L V6 engine on the current F-150 will be replaced with a 3.3L unit that comes with direct injection. The application of direct injection will boost power by a margin of 8hp and 12ft-lbs of torque. It may not sound like much but you will experience noticeable change to the pickup trucks’ driving character.

This is great news for F-150 fans as it is good to see the vehicle continuously getting better. What’s best about it is that Ford is not waiting for a new-generation F-150 to make to improve on the pickup truck.

At this rate, the F-150 will continue eclipsing GM’s Chevrolet Silverado. Recent months have shown the Silverado falling further behind the F-150 on the sales front and it now looks like there is no chance for the Silverado to make a comeback.
