2018 Jeep Renegade: Unsung Hero Finally Gets Improved On!

By  |

2017 has been a rough year for Fiat-Chrysler on the sales front and Jeep is one of the worst hit brands around. Last month saw Jeep declining further as it recorded 15% fewer sales from the year before.

The only good news here is that a couple of vehicles from Jeep were able to improve on the sales front and among them is the Renegade. The compact crossover recorded their best August sales ever and it managed to add a little cushion to Jeep’s decline.

We find this surprising because the Renegade has been heavily criticized for not being true to Jeep’s nature. Well, this debate won’t matter any longer as Jeep would welcome any gains in its line-up.

Seeing that the Renegade is suddenly picking up momentum on the sales front, Jeep has decided to give the vehicle new interior and new standard equipment for 2018. The improvements will include a new 5” UConnect infotainment system, new seat fabrics, new color options and rearview camera being made as a standard across all trims.

Whether this will be enough to keep the Renegade’s sales incline alive for the coming months is a question that remains to be answered.

Ha, the Renegade isn’t a Jeep, the Renegade is made in Italy just like any other Fiat. The Renegade is powered by a Fiat Multi-Air 4 Cyl engine. So….. it isn’t really a Jeep !!!
