2018 Jeep Wrangler: Diesel Unavailable On Debut Day?

By  |

Every passing day brings us closer to the debut of the next-gen Jeep Wrangler and it sometimes brought out new information on the highly anticipated SUV.

The latter happened again today when a leak internal document surfaced online to reveal on the powertrain options that will be available for purchase on the Wrangler’s debut day.

After checking out the leak, we realized that it made no mentions on the diesel powertrain. The only options available are the 285hp 3.6L V6 engine and the 368hp turbocharged 2L engine.

Seeing that Jeep has already confirmed on the diesel mill for the next-gen Wrangler, its absence on the leak greatly suggest that the diesel offering is being delayed for a later date.

If so, mid-2018 sounds like the ideal time for the diesel-powered Wrangler to make its debut. All will be revealed when the next-gen Wrangler takes the stage at the next LA Auto Show.
