2018 Jeep Wrangler vs Ford Bronco: Aluminum Meets Aluminum

By  |

Ever since Ford pulled the plug on the Bronco back in the late 90s, Jeep has been enjoying a free track in sales. This cannot be helped as there are no other vehicles in the 4×4 SUV segment that can compete directly with the Wrangler.

Well, the free pass in sales is now nearing an end as Ford has confirmed on the return of the Bronco. The next-gen Bronco will be looking to make its debut next month and it promises to become the best 4×4 SUV yet. The Bronco already has a strong reputation in off-road industry hence its return carries a big threat to the Jeep Wrangler.

Speaking of which, the next-gen Wrangler is due to arrive next year and it will be the first of its kind to wear an aluminum body. Jeep has revealed before that one of their primary aims with the Wrangler is to make it lighter and this hints on aluminum being the base material for the framework.

The use of aluminum is something that has been heavily practiced by Ford hence we can expect the Bronco to follow the trend. With that being said, it will be interesting to see how the next Wrangler will measure up to the Bronco in durability and weight.

Will the Wrangler be able to come out with better aluminums?
