2018 Kia Stinger: Half-Baked Aftermarket The Biggest Obstacle?

By  |

What is there not to like about the all-new Kia Stinger? Being the first official, road-legal, performance-focused car from Kia, the Stinger has got the numbers right to compete against other affordable sports vehicles. We can also commend the pricing of the Stinger which is around the $30,000 mark.

But since the Stinger is an affordable sports car, there is a need for aftermarket tuning for a large section of sports lovers and this is something Kia does not have. The Stinger got a lot working against it like being a new car/platform with no history of modifications or loyal user base.

This will make it hard for the tuning lovers to adopt the Stinger since there is no practice of modding a Kia. It will take some time for the Stinger to establish an aftermarket tuning network and until that happen, we don’t expect the Stinger to flourish on the sales front.

But of course, this is just our opinion on the matter. Do you think the lack of aftermarket tunings will affect the Stinger negatively??
