2018 Mazda 6: Android Auto & Apple Carplay Still Unavailable?

By  |

The Mazda 6 ticks all the right boxes for a great affordable midsized sedan but this is with the exception of in-cabin, up-to-date technologies. Most, if not all, major midsized sedans in the market are already equipped with Android Auto and Apply Carplay but not the Mazda 6.

If that is not bad enough, various reports are claiming that things won’t be any different for the 2018 Mazda 6. It was indicated that the upcoming model won’t get updated with Android Auto and Apple Carplay because of the old infotainment system.

The new infotainment system that is preloaded with the phone pairing software is already available in Mazda’s camp but the carmaker won’t offer it with the 2018 Mazda 6. This is because the upgrade is being planned for the next-gen Mazda 6 that is expected to arrive late next year.

While the reports may make a lot of sense, Mazda has yet to confirm on the state of Apple Carplay and Android Auto for the 2018 Mazda 6. Until that happens, it is best to take the above with a grain of salt.
