2018 Mazda 6: Prospects Dashed By Missing Feature!

By  |

2017 has been a rough year for the Mazda 6 as the vehicle as sales of the vehicle falls further behind the big names in the affordable midsized scene. Part of the blame goes to the absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the Mazda 6.

The phone pairing system has turned into a standard offering on rival vehicles and they are still unavailable on the Mazda 6. Mazda may have confirmed on offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the car in the future but we don’t see it happening with the 2018 Mazda 6.

This cannot be helped as offering the aforementioned features will require an updated infotainment system. In Mazda’s eyes, this may seem like a big upgrade hence it should be reserved for a new generation Mazda 6.

The next-gen Mazda 6 is expected to come out late next year hence there is little chance for Apple Carplay and Android Auto to feature on the 2018 model. Even so, we do hope for a surprise from Mazda in regards to a new infotainment system.
