2018 Mercedes-AMG A43 Could Steal From Focus RS

By  |

The all-new Ford Focus RS is a really attractive car to own as it comes with so much power to offer while also being able to provide decent fuel economy for daily driving.

The Focus RS is equipped with a 2.3L 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that is packed with 350hp and 350ft-lbs of torque to offer. The sports hatch can also return up to 25mpg in highway fuel economy. With such an offering, it explains why many are seeing the Focus RS’ $36,120 tag as a steal.

The only problem with the Focus RS right now is the lack of supply, here in the US. The Focus RS is shipped in small numbers thus causing a huge spike in price.

For Mercedes-Benz, they may just see it as an opportunity to develop the A43 AMG and steal away the Focus RS customers. The A43 AMG won’t be as powerful as the A45 but it may have enough to challenge the Focus RS.

While not official yet, the A43 AMG test mule has already been spotted on our local roads and it may arrive next year. This basically guarantees that the A43 AMG is coming to US shores soon but will it be able to threaten the Focus RS’ well-being?
