2018 Nissan Leaf: Current-Gen Hints On Greater Things To Come

By  |

We can all appreciate the Nissan Leaf for being one of the earliest and the best EV cars ever produced but this does not change the fact that a new generation model is needed to keep pace with the growth in the EV industry.

Following the arrival of the Chevrolet Bolt, the EV market has shifted to 200 miles of driving range for the affordable segment and this is something which the current Leaf is not capable of. The good news here is that Nissan is aware of the changes and they are already working on the next-gen model.

Despite not getting unveiled yet, the future Leaf has got a huge potential to conquer the EV market. This can already be seen with the current outdated Leaf that is still able to sell at decent pace with its aged-old offerings. The next-gen Leaf will be styled better and it will have at least 200 miles of driving range to offer.

If Nissan can retain the price of the current Leaf on the next-gen model, we don’t see why the future Leaf can’t conquer the market and leave the Chevy Bolt in the dark. The icing on the cake is with the fact that the next Leaf will come with an autonomous system called ProPilot. Are you excited?
