2018 Toyota Supra: First Mission Is To Beat The Tundra!

By  |

Every passing day brings us closer to the release of the next-gen Toyota Supra and we can’t wait to check out what the car has to offer. The next Supra is being developed alongside the next-gen BMW Z4 hence we can expect a significant amount of driving improvement from the classic Supra.

There is still a lot of debate on what powertrain will feature on the upcoming sports car. On one hand, rumors are indicating that the Supra will rely on a 2L turbo-4 that is developed together with BMW. On the other hand, the spy videos are all hinting on the application of a performance hybrid powertrain.

Personally, we don’t mind either outcome so long as the Supra is able to become the fastest vehicle in Toyota’s camp. This is the primary goal for the Supra as we find it hard to swallow the fact that the Tundra is now the fastest vehicle from Toyota.

The range-topping Tundra can be purchased with TRD Supercharger that allows the vehicle to sprint from 0-60mph in under 4 seconds. With the Supra being a pure sports car from Toyota, failing to beat the Tundra will only cripple its prospects for success. Wouldn’t you agree?
