2018 Toyota Supra: Tundra Failures Will Kill Sporty Hopes

By  |

Every passing day brings us closer to the arrival of the next-gen Supra and we can’t wait to check out what the car has to offer.

Back in the old days, the Supra is one of the leading names in the performance scene hence the pressure is certainly on Toyota to do one better than the old model.

Toyota will also have to keep in mind that the Supra is an affordable sports car in the past hence they must avoid a similar scenario to the Acura NSX. If that is not pressuring enough, there is a call for the next-gen Supra to be faster than the Tundra.

We specifically mention the Tundra because the pickup truck is now the fastest vehicle in Toyota’s line-up. With the aid of TRD superchargers, the Tundra can sprint from 0-60mph in under 4 seconds. It would suck if a pure sports car can’t offer quicker performance than a larger pickup truck.

Failing to achieve this goal will only prove that Toyota has lost it on the performance scene and they should just stick to building every day cars. That will at least preserve the legacy left behind by the old Supra.
