2018 Volvo XC60 T8 vs Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: We Have An Upset!

If you are to put the upcoming Volvo XC60 T8 next to the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, you will see the Swedish compact SUV getting mauled by the American-made monster.

This cannot be helped as the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk runs on a V8 engine that can develop 707hp and this puts it in-line to become the fastest SUV around. But when it comes to the best balance in power, performance and fuel economy, it sure looks like the large Trackhawk is no match for the XC60 T8.

The latter is packed with 421hp to offer from a hybrid setup and this can allow it to sprint from 0-62mph in just 5.2 seconds. Despite being slower than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the XC60 T8 offers greater value as it can play chase to the larger SUV all-while being fuel efficient.

The XC60 T8 has a hybrid powertrain which is rated to return 2.1L/100km at best and this makes it one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in history. The XC60 has a US estimated price of $70,000 and this makes it a full $15,000 cheaper than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

We personally find the XC60 T8 to be the ultimate choice for SUV hunters due to the balance it has to offer. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is all about raw power which limits its use.
