2019 Corvette ZR1: Time To Move Pass Dodge Viper?

By  |

When we speak of American iconic supercars, the first vehicle that comes to mind is the Dodge Viper. We feel that there is no greater icon than the Viper but it is unfortunate to learn that the car won’t be around this year as it has been discontinued by Dodge.

For some car fans, they are not too bothered by the Viper’s death thanks to the arrival of a new champion in the ‘supercar’ scene – the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The new-generation Corvette ZR1 is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor but is it enough to make us forget about the Viper?

The only way to know is through having the ZR1 in a race with the Viper on the track. On papers, the Corvette ZR1 looks to be the better car as it boasts 755hp and a whopping 13 heat exchangers.

But then again, our money is still with the Viper. Despite having only 645hp, the car is a proven winner around the track thanks to having significantly lower downforce. The only way to find out is through a proper race and we sure hope that someone will make it happen.
