2019 Ford Ranger All Set To Kill Chevy Colorado

By  |

The latest Chevrolet Colorado may have revived the midsized pickup truck segment but the vehicle is unable to grasp top spot on the sales charts. This is due to the consumers favoring the Toyota Tacoma over the Chevrolet Colorado.

If that is not bad enough, the Colorado is about to face an even greater competition in the near future. Ford has confirmed on the development of the next-gen Ranger and the vehicle is projected to arrive early next year.

The Ranger is already a global bestseller in the midsized scene and its return in the US will certainly have an immediate impact on the sales front. The Ranger is tipped to come out running on the EcoBoost engine and it is also said to have some features borrowed from the F-150.

If this is to indicate anything, the Ranger has the potential to turn into a bestseller in the midsized market thus leaving the Colorado in its shadows. It will be like the F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado but for the midsized scene.

Well I’m sure the new 3.0 power stroke mini diesel v6 and the 2.7l ecoboost will be under the hood and the 2.7l will probably see 325hp and 400lb-ft torque. It’s almost guaranteed a 10 speed auto will be behind that with 4×4 drivetrain, an fx4 off road package, hopefully a wildtrack model which would be so much better than a raptor, and a few other things. This means that the bronco will bring all of these great credentials to life as well since it will be based on the ranger. I would like to see the wildtrak have a very awesome interior and a lot of ford performance upgrades offered such as wheels, knobby tires, headlights, taillights, exhaust systems, frpp fox suspension packages, skid plates, and other upgrades. I do think the wildtrak should incorporate the raptor style grille language with the ford block letters and the same for the tailgate. But that’s it. The rest should be unique to the ranger and it’s mission of being an awesome small truck that can be sporty and off road worthy at the same time without having to worry about jumping off of everything.
