2019 Ford Ranger May Get Unexpected German Rival

We are months away from witnessing the official return of the Ford Ranger and many can’t wait to check out what the midsized pickup truck will have to offer.

Seeing that Ford is already the bestseller in the full-sized scene, the majority are expecting the Ranger to replicate the success of the F-150. This would mean seeing the Ranger coming out with better offerings than the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and also the Toyota Tacoma.

The odds are certainly in favour of the Ranger but it still won’t be a walk in the park for the vehicle. The Ford Ranger will still need to think about newcomers such as the Jeep Scrambler and possibly a new midsized pickup from RAM.

Today, we can add one more than to that list and it is the Volkswagen Amarok. The Amarok is a VW pickup truck which has never tasted American competition and there are strong indications on the vehicle crossing the Atlantic pond.

The sign appeared in the form of a registrar for the name Amarok and it was made by Volkswagen through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Volkswagen could have performed the trademark in their home country but they chose the US.

If this is to suggest anything, Volkswagen is preparing to launch the Amarok Stateside and it will be interesting to see how the pickup truck motorheads here react to it.
