2019 Ford Ranger Raptor Unfazed By Sour Diesel Prospects!

By  |

It is an exciting time to be a pickup truck fan here in the US as Ford has confirmed that the Ranger will be returning to the market through a new generation model after several years of being discontinued. If that is not enough, the Ranger will debut together with the Raptor trim.

It all sounds great until you realized that the Ranger Raptor has been closely linked with the use of a diesel powertrain. If this is to be the outcome of the Ranger Raptor, Ford is playing a dangerous card because diesels are in a state of decline on the global scale.

The numerous diesel emission scandals have sent the powertrain type on a freefall and consumers will certainly have a tough time in finding confidence with the Ranger Raptor.

But on the other hand, the rising fuel prices as well as the lack of diesel-powered pickup trucks here in the US can allow the Ranger Raptor to enjoy a wider market reach. It is a volatile potential with the Ranger Raptor and only time will tell if the pickup truck can become a success.

If Ford is so confident the diesel will sell why don’t they offer a V/6 as a
buyers option? If buyers want the diesel they will buy the truck with the diesel but if they wanted the V/6 they will go elsewhere if they have no other choice.
Your late to the smaller pick-up game don’t make it any harder on yourself.
