2019 Hyundai Kona EV Can Outpace Tesla Model 3, Chevy Bolt

By  |

The Tesla Model 3 and the Chevrolet Bolt are two of the hottest selling EVs right now but their dominance in the market may not last long.

Several market researching firms have actually sided with the upcoming Hyundai Kona EV to steal the bestseller title from the Model 3 and the Bolt, and such an expectation is bred by the way Hyundai sets up their electric SUV.

Being an SUV, the Kona EV has the potential to appeal to a wider market. SUV is the biggest trend in the automotive scene right now and sales data has shown that hatchbacks and sedans are falling out of favour as a result.

The SUV setup, together with a driving range that can rival the Bolt and Model 3, makes it easy to understand why the odds are with the Kona EV to become a bestseller. Will it happen though?

There PLENTY more electrics coming to showrooms over the next several years. The Model 3 is already somewhat dated and with big deficiencies, like its distracting touchscreen control panel, and its “Widowmaking” Autopilot, that kills in ways that TEsla does not understand and therefore cannot prevent. More than 120 electric models will come to compete against Tesla and practically every one of them will have a $7500 price advantage, due to the expiration of Tesla’s govt tax credit.
