2019 Hyundai Kona EV Will Hurt Tesla’s Volume, Here’s How

Tesla has established itself as a luxury carmaker and this is despite of their vehicles not having adequate quality to be in the premium scene at all. To make the situation more confusing, Tesla brought out the Model 3 last year to act as their most affordable model yet, with the aim of achieving big volume sales.

Well, the promise of major volume is drying up for Tesla as their slow handling of production and the uprising of newer EVs have started reeling away the Model 3 buyers into getting a different vehicle.

We recently talked about how the upcoming Fit EV promises to put a big dent on the Model 3 sales but we still feel that it will be the Hyundai Kona EV which will deal the killing blow.

The electric SUV from Hyundai is inching closer to make its debut and it is said to have at least 200 miles of driving range. Hyundai also remarked about selling the Kona EV at a price that is significantly lower than the competition, much like a gasoline-powered car.

If the rumoured $25,000 opening price for the Kona EV before rebates are to come true, we don’t see why the Kona EV can’t devour into sales of the Model 3.
