2019 Mercedes X-Class: The BMW X5 Was Actually Here First
Every passing day brings us closer to the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class and we can’t wait to see what the vehicle will have to offer. For those that have been living under a rock, the X-Class is a pickup truck from Mercedes-Benz.
It is going to be extra special as Mercedes sees the vehicle is a luxury ute and it will open up an all-new segment in the automotive industry. Everything sure sound exciting until we realized that Mercedes is actually not the real pioneer in luxury pickups.
Several years ago, BMW unveiled an M3-based pickup truck concept and this was followed by a production X5 Pickup that was sighted many times in Europe.
So if BMW decides to respond to the Mercedes X-Class, they can gladly do so and we can expect the Bavarian automaker to stick with the X5 as the base vehicle.
Independent designer Rain Prisk is well ahead of us when it penned down a visual concept of a pickup truck based on the latest X5. Could that be the X-Class potential killer? Voice out your thoughts below.
