2019 Subaru WRX STI Plans To Outdo Ford Focus RS, ‘Safely’

The Subaru WRX STI and the Ford Focus RS are closely compared to each other and it is easy to understand why. Both cars are fast, affordable to own and can be driven on the daily.

The arrival of the new Ford Focus RS has confirmed that the WRX STI is no longer the best choice in the market but Subaru is not going to keep quiet about it. The Japanese carmaker said earlier today that they have started brainstorming ideas on the next-gen WRX STI and can’t wait to show it to the world.

The announcement was made at the new Impreza’s launch party and Subaru took a step further when they shared that the future WRX STI will be built on the same platform that is used to produce the Impreza.

This basically confirms that the future WRX STI is going to be a lot safer than before as the new Global Architecture is said to be 70% stiffer as compared to the previous model. This alone suggest that the next WRX STI has already beaten the Ford Focus RS in safety..

It will be some time before Subaru starts developing a concept for the next-gen WRX STI and it will be interesting to see how good the car will potentially be in the field of performance.
