Audi A4 Piles On To Audi Fuel Economy Issues!

The latest Audi A4 and A5 are nice vehicles to own, if you don’t mind the dodgy fuel economy of both cars. We say so because both the A4 and A5 are now tangled in a controversy after Audi issued a stop-sale order on both vehicles.

The order resulted in the suspension of the A4 and A5 on the sales front and it is due to fuel economy issues with the vehicle. Both the A4 and A5 has apparently failed to meet the claimed fuel consumption figures and it gets worse when you realized that the mild-hybrid system on both cars are actually worsening the situation.

To fix the issue, Audi is now hoping for approval from German officials to rewrite the fuel consumption estimation on both the A4 and the A5. The process will put both cars on hold for up to two months hence you won’t be able to purchase either car until the approval happens.

It is a pity because the misleading fuel economy figures are off by a very small margin. Meanwhile, rival Mercedes-Benz and BMW will be celebrating as the absence of the A4 and A5 will give them more room to breathe on the sales front.
