Chevrolet Bolt EV Spotted Testing With ‘Autopilot’
It has finally happened. GM has commenced testing their autonomous technology on the Bolt EV and it was made public through a Tweet from Cruise Automation. The team said,
“”We’re testing @Cruise autonomous tech on @Chevrolet Bolt EVs on roads in Scottsdale, AZ, in addition to San Francisco.”
The autonomous technology from Cruise Automation is important for GM as they need something special to compete with the Autopilot system from Tesla Motors. While the finalized self-driving product is not out yet, the fact that it is now being tested publicly suggests that it won’t be long until the release happens.
The all-new Chevrolet Bolt is expected to receive the autonomous technology in about a year from now and it will be interesting to see how it will perform on the daily. Will the Bolt have enough to defend itself from the highly anticipated Tesla Model 3?
