Chevrolet Camaro RS Wants To Be Like Ford Mustang
If you have not heard of the Chevrolet Camaro RS, we completely understand because the car is not made for the US market. The Camaro RS is basically the name of the Camaro that will be going on sale over in China.
Yes, you read that right. Chevrolet has confirmed that they will start expanding globally by producing the Camaro for the Chinese market. The Camaro RS is that product and it will come with a single setup.
What bothers us is that the Camaro RS is severely overpriced in the Far Eastern nation. Chevrolet announced earlier today that the Camaro RS will be retailing from RMB399,000 when released and this translates to $58,000. This is about the price of the Camaro SS but unfortunately for the Camaro RS, its specs are identical to a standard base Camaro. So why is it costly over in China?
Chevrolet has yet to provide any explanation for this but the obvious says that the Camaro RS is merely following the price trend set by the Ford Mustang.
The rival pony car has been around in China for a while now and it is one of the hottest selling performance cars in the country. The Mustang has an opening price that is slightly more expansive than the Camaro RS hence it makes the high price point looks normal.
