Did Marketing Hold RAM 1500 Back Against Chevrolet Silverado?

The RAM 1500 is one of the most popular pickup trucks here in the USA but it has never been able to beat the volume of the Chevrolet Silverado and the Ford F-150.

The good news, however, is that the RAM 1500 has managed to narrow the gap separating it from the Silverado in 2017, last year. The numbers saw Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles moving 556,790 RAM 1500 and this is about 25,000 units short of the Chevrolet Silverado.

It is a commendable achievement for Fiat-Chrysler as the years prior to 2017 saw a much larger sales gap separating the two vehicles. Despite being seen as a positive outcome, some folks felt that the RAM 1500 could have beaten the Silverado if it is not for poor marketing techniques from FCA.

Unlike GM, Fiat-Chrysler was unable to promote the RAM 1500 effectively and this is partly why the vehicle still can’t break the psychological barrier separating it from the Chevrolet Silverado. It will be interesting to see how FCA responds to this.
