Ford Expedition vs Lincoln Navigator: Is Basic Luxury Enough?

By  |

Truck-based SUVs are turning is the new trend in the market and Ford is well ahead of it with two splendid vehicles being sold in the market. There is the Expedition for the mass-market and the Lincoln Navigator for the luxury market.

The thing here is that the top-of-the-line Expedition Platinum has a sticker price of $76,175 and this is about $2,000 more expansive than a base model, 4WD Lincoln Navigator. This creates a dilemma for consumers when having to decide between the Expedition and the Navigator.

It’s not easy to differentiate the two as both SUVs are similar in size and they both run on the same mill. While the Expedition may have more features to offer through the Platinum trim, the Navigator’s 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine has been refined for 450hp and 500ft-lbs of torque.

This means that the Navigator is more powerful than the Expedition but the perks with the luxury SUV does not end there. The Navigator also offers a more comfortable commuting experience and this is owed to the arm suspension type. The icing on the cake is with the interior design which looks better and offers greater comfort than the Expedition.

As such, we would strongly recommend you to take the leap towards luxuries by choosing the Navigator. Your only loss here would be the lack of in-cabin features and 1MPG of fuel economy.
