Ford Ranger Granted Safe Passage Towards Diesel Raptor!

By  |

The next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor has been closely linked to running on a diesel powertrain and this has left many worried on the sales prospects of the vehicle.

While having the Ranger Raptor running on diesel may make the pickup truck unique against its competitors, the controversies involving diesel powertrains and unpopularity of it here in the US may have a negative impact on the vehicle.

But then again, the situation has improved for the Ranger Raptor earlier today after Ford announced that the upcoming F-150 Diesel has successfully achieved 30mpg of highway fuel economy. This is a new high for the full-sized pickup truck segment and it puts the diesel powertrain on a positive light.

If the excitement shown towards the F-150 Diesel is anything to go by, the Ranger Raptor is likely to do well should it truly runs on a diesel powertrain.

Can’t wait to give one a test drive. I would buy the diesel if it had good off idle and low end response, like a proper truck engine.
