Forget Mercedes X-Class, Mitsubishi Pickup To Support Nissan Frontier!

By  |

One of the highlights in 2017 is the all-new pickup truck from Mercedes-Benz, the X-Class. Based on the Nissan Navara, the vehicle relies on a Renault engine but with the luxury finish of a Mercedes.

Pickup truck fans may have mixed feelings over the X-Class but that isn’t stopping badge hunters from hoping the X-Class to debut here in the US. Rumours are already indicating on this happening when they claimed that the X-Class is being planned for the US market to support sales of the Nissan Frontier – much like how it is with the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado.

But then again, the circumstances have changed today as Mercedes have played down the possibility for the X-Class to cross the Atlantic Pond. Furthermore, new reports have surfaced claiming that Nissan is calling for Mitsubishi to create a version of the Triton to be sold alongside the Frontier in the US market.

Mitsubishi admitted to this when they said that the Triton variant is still in the planning phase which they won’t progress on until they are finished with their priorities.
