GM Next Major Product Won’t Have A Steering Wheel!

What you’re looking at above is the first teaser image of a vehicle which GM has been working extensively on and you can easily notice that the car does not have a steering wheel.

If you’re thinking that it could be because the vehicle is not completed, you are wrong. GM actually wanted a no-steering setup inside the cabin and this is due to the vehicle’s full autonomous profile.

GM calls it the Cruise AV autonomous car and they confirmed earlier today that the vehicle will step into production next year. The carmaker added that the Cruise AV will have level 5 autonomous technology hence making it fitting to go without a steering wheel.

Being a fan of driving, a fully-capable autonomous car is scary to look at but we are still interested in seeing how it performs independently without requiring a licensed driver.
