Hyundai i30 N Plays Down Honda Civic Type R Rivalry!

Hyundai is about to commence deliveries of the i30 N and consumers cannot be happier for it. The i30 N is the pure performance variant of the i30 and it can be described as Hyundai’s first serious attempt at mass market, affordable sports car.

Things are certainly promising with the i30 N as the car has got an attractive output of 271hp from a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It gets more exciting when you learned that the i30 N is built on the Nurburgring.

However, this is not an indication that the i30 N is going to create records at the legendary track – at least according to Hyundai. The carmaker warned against the i30 N challenging the track record set by the Honda Civic Type R as that is not in the company’s interest.

Hyundai was serious about it when they added that Nurburgring records are meaningless since most cars involved are tuned for tracking but sold as something more average. It is an image they want to stay away from hence you shouldn’t expect the i30 N to compete with the Civic Type R.

Hyundai concluded by saying that the i30 N is a car made for those that wants limitless fun in a small and affordable package.
