Is Rebadged Suzuki Jimny The Perfect Response To Baby Wrangler?

In a world where SUVs are now the dominant type in the automotive realm, carmakers are continuously exploring new ways to expand their utility offerings and this includes Jeep.

The iconic American brand has made it clear that they want more SUVs in their line-up and next-in-line for them is a much smaller model that can be slotted below the Renegade. Dubbed as the true baby Wrangler, the subcompact SUV will have all the goodies for a worry-free off-road expedition and it will also cater to the global market well.

Toyota is aware of the Baby Wrangler’s development and they have since teased on a rival vehicle. Toyota revealed that they too are interested in developing a subcompact all-terrain monster but they don’t have any details for it yet.

However, if rumours are to be referred to, Toyota is said to be negotiating a deal with Suzuki for approval to sell the next-gen Jimny with a Toyota’s badge.

The Jimny is a popular compact SUV over in Asia and photos of the next-gen model shows a lot of Wrangler in its design but in a smaller package. The Jimny may be utilized to compete with the Jeep Renegade and it will generate greater revenue for both Toyota and Suzuki.

But of course, there is no telling how accurate the reports are hence you should take the above with a grain of salt until an official statement from Toyota gets released.
