Lamborghini Urus: Jeep What? Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Who?

By  |

Lamborghini may have yet to launch the Urus yet but the early performance figures are enough to suggest that the vehicle is going to be the fastest SUV around.

The title of fastest currently belongs to the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is an SUV that relies on the 707hp Hellcat-sourced V8 engine. With the mill upgrade, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can hit 60mph in just 3.4 seconds and it has proven its worth at various drag events.

But then again, drag is all that the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can brag about as the vehicle is still pending to prove its worth around a proper track. This is where Lamborghini wishes to excel with the Urus and it gets more exciting knowing that the Urus can sprint at a faster pace.

Reports have confirmed that the Urus can hit 62mph in 3.3 seconds and its tight suspension setup will optimize performance around the track.

The Urus certainly sounds promising and all that is left is for Lamborghini to act on their words by putting the Urus on a track challenge right after launching the vehicle. Only then can we perhaps agree that the Urus won’t need to know about the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at all.
