Lamborghini Won’t Gamble On EV Technology To Preserve Reputation

More and more carmakers today are building EV cars and this includes the big names like Porsche, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. For Lamborghini, they revealed that the switch to EV is imminent but they won’t be making the shift anytime soon.

Lamborghini’s chief, Stephan Winkelmann, revealed that the current EV battery technology is not powerful enough hence the company won’t be switching to EV yet. Lamborghini finds it more important to preserve their brand’s reputation of building fast cars. With a weak EV powertrain, it can give Lamborghini a bad name.

Even so, Lamborghini continue to tease that they will still try an offer greener and more powerful cars in the future and this will start with the Urus. The sports SUV is tipped to arrive later this year and it is heavily linked to arrive with a hybrid powertrain.
