Lincoln MKZ Won’t Follow Ford Sedan Exodus!

By  |

Ford shook the world last week when they revealed that they will cease selling sedans and compact cars here in the US due to the declining demand of such vehicles. This means that the likes of Taurus, Fusion and even the Fiesta will soon be extinct in the market.

The aim here is for Ford to reduce production cost while catering to the larger demand – SUVs and crossovers. The only sedans that will remain are the Ford Mustang and the Focus.

The good news here is that Ford’s luxury arm, Lincoln, won’t be participating in the same movement. Lincoln revealed earlier today that they remain committed to the MKZ and also the Continental. This is surprising because the Continental has been struggling to sell well despite having a high-level luxury offering.

On the other hand, it could be because the Continental was refreshed very recently ago and the car is also identified as Lincoln’s flagship vehicle. Well, at least it’s good to know there will still be some sedans around in the market.
