Mid-Engine Corvette C8 Confirmed For 2018 LA Auto Show?

A couple of days ago, GM made a huge announcement regarding the Bowling Green production facility. The carmaker said that they are suspending Corvette factory tours for a period of 18 months.

That is quite a lengthy suspension and it got many speculated that GM is up to something huge with the production facility. This could easily point to a full retooling of the plant in preparation for the next iteration of Corvette. The certainty here is that GM is working on something huge and they don’t want anyone to see it.

While no details were provided by the carmaker, many believe that the suspension is because of the development of the mid-engine Corvette C8. The car promises to become the ultimate American supercar when released and its goal is to be the best in world of performance.

If 18 months suspension is to serve as any clue, then counting the days down will bring you to November 2018. November has always been the month where LA hosts its auto show and it may just be where GM will pull the curtains off the mid-engine Corvette C8. Will it happen?
