Model 3 Reservations Could Tempt Tesla To Ditch Luxury

By  |

About a month ago, Tesla Motors made the first official announcement for the Model 3. The car is projected to make its official release late next year but that didn’t stop Tesla from taking in reservations for the vehicle.

The amazing bit is that more than 400,000 people have deposited $1,000 for the Model 3 and the numbers are growing as we speak. Tesla explained that many are attracted to the Model 3’s 200-mile driving range and $35,000 price tag hence the confidence to make a reservation for the car.

When the Model 3 arrives, it is bound to become the highest volume vehicle ever produced by Tesla yet. Now, it seems that Tesla is keen on producing more affordable vehicles in the future instead of premium cars like the Model S and the Model X.

Elon Musk was promoting the Model 3 in Norway earlier today and he revealed that the affordability of the car is giving Tesla more reason to produce cheaper EV vehicle in the future.

Perhaps, Elon Musk is starting to see the beauty of producing big volume cars and he could just produce another affordable vehicle following the Model 3. If so, we are hoping for it to be an EV hatchback. What about you?
